Supt./Principal Dr. Lorise Goeke

Dr. Lorise Goeke began her tenure as the superintendent of South Bound Brook Public Schools on July 1, 2010. Prior to her post in South Bound Brook, Dr. Goeke has served as building principal, middle school teacher, and elementary school teacher in kindergarten and fourth grades.

Dr. Goeke received her Bachelors of Arts from William Paterson University in Elementary Education with a concentration in English Literature. She received her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Seton Hall University and her Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in 2007. Dr. Goeke ‘s research, entitled Motivating at Risk Middle School Students: Life Skills as an Intervention, studied the link between student locus of control and achievement.

Dr. Goeke has implemented her research in a variety of settings, using her findings to create behavioral and academic interventions for middle school students to improve achievement. Dr. Goeke has also presented workshops on gender based approaches to learning for school districts and non-profit organizations, such as Morris County Prevention is Key. Her willingness to explore alternative approaches to student learning has improved literacy acquisition in primary grades through early and often intervention applications and the implementation of a Reading to Dogs program.
